Allalelai is located in the highlands of the famous Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania
Our Employee Mbekure Metemi had analyzed the situation on site for us over several months and collected detailed compilations of cases of illness, patient numbers and necessary medication.
The Medical Dispensary serves approximately 400 patients per month. With the help of the medical staff on site, we were then able to determine the need for medicines and medical equipment.
Among other things, we were able to deliver 18,000 tablets of antibiotics, 6,000 tablets of paracetamol against fever, but also disinfectants, soap, disposable gloves, needles and syringes, stethoscope and examination couch, infusion solutions as well as toilet paper and sanitary towels for the first days after a delivery.
Through this campaign, we were able to ensure the basic supply of medicines for about 7,000 people in Allalelai for one year.
During the action, we noticed the problematic waste disposal as well as the disposal of the afterbirth on site. Organizing a placenta pit and an incinerator would be another project for 2022.
